Five Family Members, Three of Them Children, Hospitalized for Carbon Monoxide Poisoning in Ararat Province
On December 21, another incident of carbon monoxide poisoning occurred in Ararat Province. Around 20:50, the Masis Medical Center reported to the Masis police department that a child had been admitted with a diagnosis of carbon monoxide poisoning. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the authorities identified the hospitalized child as one-year-old Mark G. from the village of Ayntap.
While the police were investigating the circumstances of the incident, the Masis police department received another report from the Masis Medical Center stating that 13-year-old Gor G., 11-year-old Knarik G., and 67-year-old Knarik G. had also been admitted with the same diagnosis. Shortly thereafter, at 22:20, the Masis police department received a report from the Muratsan Medical Center that 34-year-old Susanna H. had been admitted with the same condition.
It was revealed that the individuals were admitted to the hospital from house number 4/2 on 9th Street in the village of Ayntap, where a malfunction in the kitchen water heater's ventilation system had caused a carbon monoxide leak.
