This Was Not Our War, But We Had Our Share of Victory: Political Analyst

1. The adopted resolution is not a law. It is a statement, has no legal binding force, and will not be submitted for President Trump’s signature.

2. Both chambers of the U.S. Congress adopted resolutions recognizing the Genocide.

3. The President and officials are not obliged to use the term Genocide.

Why now?

1. Today, anti-Turkish sentiments are very prominent in Washington.

2. Protecting the Turks is an ungrateful task.

3. Senators who voted against the veto faced significant public pressure that was stronger than the White House’s requests. This is why they did not reaffirm the veto.

4. The laurels of victory exclusively belong to our community, to the two organizations.

5. Turkish-American relations have never been this bad.

Let me put it this way: this was not our war, but we had our share of victory.
