Special Forces Conduct Search at Ruben Hayrapetyan's Residence and Properties
The special forces of the Armenian police are currently conducting a search at the residence of former Armenian Football Federation (AFF) president Ruben Hayrapetyan, as well as several properties associated with him, in collaboration with the staff of the 6th department of the police. This information has been reported by the Armenian Times.
It is noted that the police received operational information regarding Hayrapetyan’s businesses and began to prepare materials for investigation.
According to media reports, Ruben Hayrapetyan is the beneficial owner of the 'Armenian Development Bank' and the 'Zeytun Furniture Factory' LLC. During his tenure as AFF president from 2012 to 2018, Hayrapetyan organized the construction and renovation of football stadiums and sports schools in several cities of Armenia, during which he allegedly did not fulfill or partially fulfilled contractual obligations and misappropriated large sums of money. Additionally, it has been reported earlier in the media that the federation awarded contracts worth millions of dollars to Hayrapetyan's companies for construction during his presidency.
