Any such incident must receive a strict legal assessment: Naira Zohrabyan
The Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Human Rights Protection and Public Affairs of the National Assembly, Naira Zohrabyan, writes:
"I have just returned from Strasbourg and learned at the airport that an attack took place against a media outlet. As a citizen, as a former journalist, and as the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Human Rights Protection and Public Affairs, I strongly condemn any assault against the press. Free speech has no alternative in our country; this must be understood by everyone, and any such incident must receive a strict legal assessment."
It is worth mentioning that today, four individuals surrounded the “Hayeli” media club. They threw eggs at the club's doors and posted banners. One of them, introducing himself as the citizen David Hovhannisyan, stated that he demands the closure of the media outlet.
The reason for such an action is the article published on Hayeli.am titled "Aliyev's Delayed but Powerful Response to Pashinyan.” According to the participants of the action, they intended to do the same inside the club if the door had been open.
