The National Assembly Properly Invited Tovmasyan to Attend Yesterday's Meeting
The President of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, addressed the issue regarding Hrayr Tovmasyan’s termination of powers as a member of the Constitutional Court. He stated that their actions fall within the framework of legal regulations. Journalists asked about the absence of Tovmasyan from the committee meetings. Mirzoyan responded: "I want to clearly state that the National Assembly properly invited Hrayr Tovmasyan to attend yesterday's meeting to defend his position and answer the questions of the deputies. In addition to sending a formal invitation, there was also a phone call made for his participation in the committee meeting. There was no legal requirement to invite him to the committee meeting. He did not come, and moreover, apologizing to the 'Prosperous Armenia' faction, I believe this shows a disrespectful attitude towards the National Assembly and other political forces within it. It serves to prove a point I emphasized in my speech yesterday, which is clear political positioning and elements of motivation present in his actions," said the National Assembly President. He insisted on his opinion that Tovmasyan has narrow political, party motivations in his actions and does not act from the perspective of an equitable judicial system.
