Offer for Free Education at University for Aleksanyan and Chalyan

The administration of the Gjumri branch of the Armenian State University of Economics offers Olympic gold medalist, three-time world champion, and four-time European champion Arthur Aleksanyan, along with silver medalist Karapet Chalyan, a chance to study for free at the university.

Karen Petrosyan, the acting director of the Gjumri branch, informed Sputnik Armenia that the athletes can enroll this year in distance learning at the Armenian State University of Economics.

“When we learned that we had already secured two Olympic quotas, we immediately thought about how we could contribute. We decided to accept our athletes from Gjumri, who proudly represent us on international stages and uphold the name of our republic, in our branch’s distance learning in three areas: Accounting, Finance, and Management,” he stated.

The choice of which department the champions wish to study in is left to them. The tuition fees will be fully covered by our branch,” he added.

Petrosyan noted that the offer will be presented to the athletes in person when they return to Armenia. “We will present the offer in Gyumri, and they will decide whether to accept it or not,” he mentioned.

Up until now, Gjumri athletes have completed the Department of Physical Education Theory and Methodology at Shirak State University.
