How Much Will Customs Clearance Cost for Cars Starting January 1?

Starting January 1, customs duties and taxes for importing personal use vehicles from third countries into the Eurasian Economic Union territory will be calculated at a unified rate, meaning the sum of customs duties and value-added tax will be accounted for.

This information was disclosed during a meeting with reporters by the acting head of the tariff regulation and customs procedures department of the State Revenue Committee.

According to Garik Minasyan, the calculation will depend on the release year of the imported vehicle, its value, and engine displacement.

He emphasized that if the "transit declaration" for the imported vehicle is registered by December 31, but the "passenger customs declaration" is registered on January 1, then the new rates will apply. Thus, it is essential to register the "passenger customs declaration" before January 1 to ensure customs clearance at the currently applicable rates.
