Trump Freezes $250 Million Military Aid to Ukraine
U.S. President Donald Trump has frozen $250 million in military aid that was intended for Ukraine, however, senators from both the Democratic and Republican parties expect Congress to allow military assistance to Ukraine, circumventing Trump's decision, Reuters reports.
Specifically, Republican Senator Ron Johnson stated, "If Trump decides not to provide that money, I am entirely confident that both sides in Congress will vote to revisit this decision." Democratic Party member Chris Murphy has also advocated for military aid to Ukraine. Murphy and Johnson recently visited Ukraine and declared that Congress supports a country that has faced "Russian aggression."
