HBCh Demands Publication of the Conclusion on the Need for a New Environmental Impact Assessment for Amulsar
The Armenian Environmental Front's civil initiative has sent a query to the Ministry of Environment and the Government of Armenia, demanding the publication of the conclusion from the Ministry regarding the need for a new Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for Amulsar on September 4.
The text of the inquiry is as follows:
“On August 29, 2019, following a Skype conference with specialists from ELARD-TRC, your ministry received a directive to prepare its approaches on this issue by September 4, particularly to clarify whether there is a need to conduct a new EIA for Amulsar. We learned from the media that on September 4, a consultation took place at the Government, during which you reported that you had fulfilled the Prime Minister's assignment and provided all the information to the government.”
“Considering that this information does not contain military or state secrets, moreover, environmental information is subject to publication, we kindly request you to send us the complete package of documents prepared by the Ministry and presented during the consultation at the Government on September 4,” the inquiry concluded.
