Protest at Yerevan Special School No. 16
Parents of students at Yerevan's Special School No. 16 are holding a protest against the school's closure. They are voicing their opposition to the decision to close the school. Parents were notified of the decision verbally, and the staff was informed just one day prior.
Ashot Arshakyan, head of the Department of General Education at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs, stated that the school is not being closed. "According to the law on general education, a transition to full inclusion is underway. Yerevan schools must implement this change this year. There will be pediatric-psychological centers. The school will continue to operate until a government decision is made," he said.
