Court Lifts Restrictions on Manvel Grigoryan's Pension

The former head of the State Revenue Committee, General Manvel Grigoryan's attorney, Levon Baghdasaryan, has recently applied to lift the restrictions on Grigoryan's pension and property.

It should be noted that the preliminary investigation body had placed a restriction on all property belonging to Grigoryan, including the company "Aknalich Duck Farm" located in the Aknalich community, which is supposed to be donated to the state by Grigoryan. Prosecutor Vahe Dolmazyan pointed out that the application does not clarify whether he is preparing to donate 100 percent of the shares to the state, and additionally, that this company belongs to his son, Karen Grigoryan, and there is no consent from him. The prosecutor indicated that the application is subject to rejection.

In response, Levon Baghdasaryan stated that the actual owner of the property is not Karen Grigoryan. "We want to compensate for the damage, but since the government says, 'I cannot start the process because the property is under restriction,' the lifting or not lifting of the restriction is within the court's authority," said the defense lawyer.

Another one of Grigoryan's attorneys, Arsen Mkrtchyan, also said that during the pre-investigation period, Karen Grigoryan had given consent to donate the property to the state. After hearing the parties of the trial, the court decided to postpone the decision on the application until a number of significant circumstances regarding it are clarified.

Then Baghdasaryan applied to lift the restrictions on Manvel Grigoryan's pension. The prosecutor did not object to the application. The court decided to grant the defense's request and remove the restrictions on the pension.
