Widespread Rewards Becoming Understandable: Styopa Safaryan
Political scientist Styopa Safaryan wrote on his Facebook page: “Now let’s summarize the issue of optimizing state governance and employee rewards in a more positive light:
Of course, everyone understands that the salaries of diligent employees in the system should be raised, as was done in Georgia or in other countries for conscientious, hardworking, professional, and public-spirited work that yields results. Sooner or later, this will also be done in Armenia. Even to a small extent, the widespread rewards are becoming understandable as a step to motivate and stimulate everyone. However, the public still protests against the unnecessary largeness of rewards for the leadership, the inequality between the upper and lower tiers, the enormous difference in salary scales among different departments, and finally, the system’s overinflation, which the Prime Minister has also mentioned. Ultimately, it’s about saying: we’ve done well, we’ve requested that much, we’ve paid that much, I know what I’ve done, and I am responsible, the data is confidential, and such incomprehensible justifications. In the end, it is also important to note when this is being done.”
