UFC President Dana White intervened in the stare-down between Arman Tsarukyan and Mauricio Rua, preventing tensions from escalating. This was reported by MMA Fighting.

On Friday, the UFC held its first press conference ahead of UFC 331, scheduled for September. The main event of the tournament will feature a lightweight title rematch between Joshua Van and Alexandre Pantoja.

In the co-main event, lightweight fighters Arman Tsarukyan and Mauricio Rua will compete for a shot at the championship belt. After the press conference, Tsarukyan and Rua faced off for the first time. When Rua thrust his fist forward, Tsarukyan approached him, leading Dana White to immediately step in, separating the athletes to avert a potential incident.

MMA Fighting reminds that last year, prior to UFC Qatar, Tsarukyan had headbutted Dan Hooker during a stare-down.

The stare-down between Joshua Van and Alexandre Pantoja was also tense. They had argued during the press conference, and during their face-off, the situation escalated again.

UFC 331 will take place on September 19 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
