Trump Imposes Up to 100% Tariffs on Imported Drones

U.S. President Donald Trump has signed a proclamation imposing tariffs on the import of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and their components, according to a statement from the White House.

The 100% tariff will apply to "drones of a certain size or certain capabilities considered critical to national security, as well as associated ground control stations and certain key components." This pertains to UAVs with a maximum takeoff weight exceeding 25 kg and those equipped with thermal imaging.

At the same time, a 25% tariff will be applied to UAVs with a maximum takeoff weight of 25 kg or less.

According to Trump's proclamation, a 15% tariff will be imposed on drones and their components imported from the European Union, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Liechtenstein, while products imported from the United Kingdom will incur a rate of 10%.
