Social Networks Not Banned for Under 15s in France: Constitutional Council Suspends Law
The Constitutional Council of France has annulled the provision of a law that aimed to prohibit individuals under the age of 15 from accessing social networks. This information was reported by BFM-TV on August 14.
According to the body’s position, restricting access to social networks would undermine the freedom of expression for teenagers. Furthermore, because the legal text does not specify mechanisms for age verification, there is a risk of violating personal privacy.
