How the Ministry of Internal Affairs Resolved the Issue of Driver's Licenses for Displaced Persons from Artsakh
In recent weeks, numerous applications have been submitted to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia by compatriots displaced from Artsakh regarding the restoration of driver's licenses under revocation conditions.
The issue has been thoroughly studied at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and all data available in the information databases accessible to the authorized body in the field of migration has been examined post-displacement. Taking into account that the verified information clearly establishes the existence of an individual's right to drive, yet the data concerning the grounds and duration of revocation of the driver's license is incomplete, a decision has been made to interpret the entirety of the facts in favor of the citizens and to issue new driver's licenses.
Thus, starting Monday, citizens can apply and receive digital or plastic driver's licenses without taking a test. According to Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan, it is essential for them that the raised issues not only be heard but also receive just and lawful solutions.
