Unforgettable Pride as the National Anthem of Armenia Resonated in Baku: Zhanna Andreasian

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Zhanna Andreasian, welcomed the representatives of Armenia's Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling youth teams that participated in the World U17 Championship held in Baku. The ministry reports that Minister Andreasian met today with members of the Armenian freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling youth teams, who recently competed in the World U17 Championship in Baku.

The Greco-Roman style team of Armenia won one gold medal and two bronze medals at the championship. The title of champion was secured by Janes Nazaryan, while Ararat Avetisyan (48 kg) and Gevorg Harutyunyan (51 kg) earned bronze medals.

Addressing the athletes and coaches, Zhanna Andreasian congratulated them and noted that the performance of the Armenian team at this tournament was particularly significant. “This participation was very important. We all felt an indescribable sense of pride when the national anthem of the Republic of Armenia played and our tricolor was raised. I thank you for giving us and our state that pride,” said the minister, adding that not only the medalists but all athletes representing Armenia at the World Championship deserve high praise.
