Demand for Over 6.8 Billion Dram from Samvel Karapetyan and Other Defendants

In the Anti-Corruption Court, a property claim of over 6 billion 814 million dram has been filed against Samvel Karapetyan and other defendants. During the court session presided over by Judge Vahe Dolmazyan, public prosecutor Argam Dallakyan requested the court to collect more than 6 billion 814 million dram from Samvel Karapetyan and the other defendants in joint liability.

Regarding individuals who are on the wanted list, he stated that the position will be presented in the next stages of the trial. The court also approved the public prosecutor's motion, placing Samvel Karapetyan under house arrest.

It was also revealed in the court session that the participation of lawyers Aram Vardevanyan and Liana Gasparyan as defenders had been terminated due to their election as members of the National Assembly.

Defender Ruben Hakobyan informed the court that the property claim does not comply with legal requirements and should be returned. According to him, it is not properly substantiated, and the provided justifications do not clarify the legal grounds of the claim.

The defense also insisted that the extent of the damage caused to the state is unsubstantiated, as there is no conclusion from forensic accounting examination, and according to the defenders, the evidence presented is inadmissible.

Despite the objections, the court found that the claim meets the requirements of the code, accepted it for proceedings, and recognized Samvel Karapetyan and the other defendants as property liable parties.
