Armenia Enters a New Phase of Artificial Intelligence: Pashinyan

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Mkhitar Hayrapetyan for his work as Minister of High-Tech Industry, emphasizing that the technology sector in Armenia has been developing for a considerable time. 'But I must also say that the developments of the past year are particularly significant for Armenia because we now have more and more opportunities to engage with cutting-edge technologies and artificial intelligence. Of course, significant work has been done, and now there is an infrastructure in place in Armenia that just a few years ago could have seemed difficult to implement,' the Prime Minister stated.

The head of the government pointed to the supercomputer center at Yerevan State University, the 'ELEVATE AI' artificial intelligence factory, as well as the artificial intelligence factory that will soon be launched by Firebird Company. According to Nikol Pashinyan, keeping pace with technology is one of the government's priorities.

'In this regard, we must also be attentive and engaged in the global debates occurring around technology, with the understanding that everything must be done to ensure that the implementation of technology does not diminish opportunities for people to work and earn, but rather facilitates it as much as possible and makes it more efficient,' the Prime Minister added, noting that the executive has a fairly busy agenda in the field of technology.

'Of course, there are serious and prolonged issues here that create the need for management, planning, and decision-making; however, this constitutes the upcoming working agenda that we will address in the context of discussing and adopting the Government's program draft,' Nikol Pashinyan stated.

Mkhitar Hayrapetyan expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for trusting him with the position of Minister of High-Tech Industry, stating that he perceives it as a unique opportunity to serve the state. The former minister expressed confidence that Davit Tadevosyan will succeed in the ministerial role, given his experience and knowledge, and conveyed his willingness to support that process.

In turn, newly-appointed Minister Davit Tadevosyan thanked the Prime Minister for the trust and opportunity granted to him. 'I assume this position with a strong understanding that everything has a beginning and an end. I will strive to make maximal efforts to leave this position to the next minister with a sense of pride and fully completed work,' the minister stated.
