Mass Arrests in France Over Forest Fires
Since the beginning of summer, 375 people have been arrested in France on suspicion of being linked to numerous forest fires that have erupted in the country. Among those arrested are 142 minors. This was reported by BFMTV, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Out of the 375 arrested individuals, 36 have either been sentenced to imprisonment or are currently in pre-trial detention. The television channel notes that in recent weeks, several fires have broken out in various regions of France, particularly in the Gironde, Oise, and Seine-et-Marne departments. Some of these fires are attributed to extreme heat, while others may be the result of human activities.
