The Civil Contract Party Nominates Nikol Pashinyan for Prime Minister
The Civil Contract Party, as the political force that has formed a parliamentary majority in the National Assembly, has submitted a package of necessary documents to the President of the Republic for the nomination of Nikol Pashinyan for the position of Prime Minister, in accordance with Article 149 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia. This step is taken to ensure the procedural requirements for the appointment of the Prime Minister as stipulated by the Constitution.
It is noteworthy that earlier we reported that the first session of the 9th convocation of the National Assembly is taking place. The composition of the 9th convocation of the Armenian parliament was formed as a result of the parliamentary elections held on June 7, 2026. According to these results, the parliament will consist of 105 deputies, of which the Civil Contract Party received 64 mandates, the Strong Armenia alliance secured 29, and the Armenia alliance obtained 12.
