Nearly 8000 Applications Still Awaiting: Delays in Insurance Refunds

Delays in the refund of insurance premiums available to citizens under the Universal Health Insurance framework continue, even though the law stipulates that it should be processed within five working days after submitting an application.

In an interview with CivilNet, Haik Babayan, Director of Financial and Insurance Compensation at the Universal Health Insurance Fund, stated that the delays are due to data reconciliation issues between systems.

According to him, citizens who are entitled to receive refunds are those who make payments from multiple sources, for example, those who work in several places simultaneously or who run a sole proprietorship alongside their employment. Individuals included in state-funded privileged groups can also benefit from this opportunity.

Babayan mentioned that the fund has currently received around 10,000 applications; however, some of these are duplicates, and the actual number of individual applications is about 8,000.
