I Once Dreamed About This: Lukashenko
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, during a meeting with military personnel, referred to the Iskander-M as the machine of his dreams. "Once, I dreamed about this machine. And today we have several of them. And you know better than me that this is a good weapon," the Belarusian leader remarked to the troops.
Furthermore, during a video conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Lukashenko announced that the military forces of Belarus and Russia conduct joint exercises of nuclear forces every three months.
On Thursday, Lukashenko and Putin connected via video conference to discuss the combat use of nuclear weapons and the joint training of nuclear security by the military units. The Belarusian head of state connected with his Russian counterpart from the management center of the Ministry of Defense.
"Indeed, this is the first such joint exercise. But according to components, it turns out that our general staffs and defense ministers conduct this every three months. But without us (the presidents). You and I were still discussing the prospects for the presidents' participation in the winter," Lukashenko said, as quoted by the BelTA agency.
