Video: Pashinyan on His Relationship with Putin
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, during his campaign, addressed Armenian-Russian relations, emphasizing that they will not only avoid any abrupt actions but will also deepen their ties.
“I have a friendly relationship with the President of the Russian Federation, in the true sense of the word. I doubt that since 2018, the President of Russia has had more contacts with any other leader. During this period, we have had over 200 phone conversations—just phone conversations,” stated the Prime Minister, adding that for the past eight years, he has maintained a very warm and friendly relationship with the head of the Russian government, meeting at least once a month, if not more often.
He noted that the relationship with Russia is very warm: “The issue lies elsewhere. In many cases, the opposition tells us that we should have equal relationships with Russia... My dear people, let’s not do anything foolish—humor is humor, but... Russia is a great power, and we must treat it with respect and reverence, just as one does with a great power,” the Prime Minister emphasized, stating that he maintains such an attitude not only towards Russia but also towards the Russian President and the head of the Russian government.
