Italy's Foreign Ministry Summons Israeli Ambassador
Italy's Foreign Ministry has summoned the Israeli ambassador in accordance with a statement from Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Footage involving Israeli Minister Ben-Gvir has been deemed unacceptable. It is considered intolerable that protesters, including many Italian citizens, should be subjected to such treatment that undermines human dignity.
The Italian authorities are urgently taking all necessary actions at the highest institutional level to ensure the prompt release of Italian citizens involved in the incident. Italy demands an apology for the treatment of the protesters, as well as for the complete disregard shown towards the explicit demands of the Italian government.
In connection with this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is immediately summoning the Israeli ambassador for official clarifications regarding the incident.
