CEC Declares Registration of 45 Parliamentary Candidates Invalid
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has declared the registration of 45 parliamentary candidates invalid during an extraordinary session held on May 14.
The self-withdrawal applications have been submitted by various political parties, including the Republican Party of Armenia, the Public-Democratic Union "I Am Against Everyone," the Bright Armenia Party, the Armenian National Congress, the Union of National Forces, and the Alliance Progressive Centralist Party. In total, there are 45 candidates who were included in the electoral lists.
Some of the withdrawal applications were notarized as per legal requirements, while candidates who did not have notarized applications attended the CEC meeting in person.
The CEC rejected one candidate's withdrawal application on the grounds that it was not notarized, and the candidate did not appear at the meeting.
