Demand for 17 Million Dram Compensation: Furnace Operations Suspended
Employees of the Environmental and Mining Inspectorate conducted an inspection at the "Clean Iron Factory" LLC, which is engaged in the processing of molybdenum concentrate in Yerevan.
It was revealed that the company had operated a multi-story furnace in the roasting area without a permit for emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere from stationary sources during its activities.
By the decision of the head of the territorial division of the inspectorate in Yerevan, the illegal operation of the multi-story furnace in the roasting area has been suspended. An administrative fine of 450,000 AMD has been imposed on the company's director, and a demand for compensation for damage to the environment has been presented in the amount of 16,961,440 AMD.
