Earthquake in Armenia
On May 9, at 08:58 local time (04:58 GMT), a magnitude 1.8 earthquake was recorded by the seismic monitoring network of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia. The epicenter was located at geographical coordinates 40.87° North latitude and 44.32° East longitude, 6 km northeast of the city of Spitak, at a depth of 10 km.
The intensity of the underground tremor in the epicentral zone was measured at 2 points. The earthquake was felt with a magnitude of 2 points in the villages of Arevashogh and Karadzor in the Lori Province.
