Putin Has Phone Conversation with Trump
Vladimir Putin informed Donald Trump over the phone about his willingness to declare a ceasefire on the occasion of Victory Day, reported the president's assistant Yuri Ushakov.
"Trump actively supported this initiative, noting that the holiday symbolizes our common victory over Nazism in World War II," the Kremlin representative said.
Details of the conversation lasted for more than one and a half hours. Putin decisively condemned the assassination attempt against Trump and expressed support for the U.S. president in this regard.
The Russian president considers Trump's decision to extend the ceasefire regime against Iran to be correct. Moscow deems the option of a U.S. ground operation against Iran to be dangerous.
Russia will continue its active communications with Iran, the countries of the Persian Gulf, Israel, and the United States. Trump believes that a deal to end the conflict in Ukraine is already close.
Putin informed Trump that Russian forces are maintaining the initiative and pushing back enemy positions. The leaders expressed similar evaluations regarding the behavior of the Kyiv administration led by Zelensky, which is pursuing a policy of prolonging the conflict.
At the end of the phone conversation, Putin and Trump warmly bid farewell to each other.
