Hrazdan Gorge Could Become a Special Protected Area: Avinyan
The Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, has announced that the city council and local communities will have the opportunity to designate specific areas as community environmental or special protected zones.
“We have conducted a biodiversity study throughout the Hrazdan Gorge, and we have clearly outlined its contours, including the flora and fauna, cultural monuments, and everything that exists there. This has also served as the basis for developing the concept we are discussing,” said Avinyan.
The Mayor added that based on this groundwork, the Yerevan council will have the opportunity to grant special protected area status to the Hrazdan Gorge.
