Tehran Presents New Terms to Washington
The Iranian authorities have demanded that the U.S. significantly ease the sanctions imposed on the country. This was reported by CNN, citing a source familiar with the negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
Additionally, the network noted that Iran is requesting the unfreezing of its $20 billion assets. On February 28, the U.S. and Israel launched a large-scale operation against Iran. On April 7, the U.S. president announced a mutual ceasefire with Tehran for two weeks.
On April 11, Iran and the U.S. held several rounds of negotiations in Islamabad. Both Tehran and Washington have stated that the parties have been unable to reach an agreement on a long-term settlement due to several disagreements. On April 13, the U.S. began its naval blockade against Iran.
