Lukashenko Advises US President to Take Example from Him
In an interview with RT, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko commented on the internal and external politics of the United States, criticizing Washington's approach to human rights issues. He stated that as long as the US is involved in military operations that result in the deaths of civilians, it has no right to speak about democracy.
To support his argument, the Belarusian leader mentioned the bombing of sovereign countries carried out under the auspices or direct participation of the United States. According to him, targeting schools thousands of kilometers away, as well as the killing of teachers and children, contradicts the advocacy for human rights.
Lukashenko also expressed doubt about the existence of internal democracy in the US, noting that there are no real changes occurring, which could indicate internal dictatorship. He stated his belief that respect for human rights and 'real democracy' in Belarus is based on much higher foundations than in the United States, and that the American side should take an example from them.
In conclusion, the Belarusian president raised a rhetorical question about how one can discuss rights when the fundamental right to life is being violated.
