Asia's Largest Salt Lake Begins to Recover
Asia's largest salt lake, located in Iran, Lake Urmia, has come back to life thanks to recent rains, transforming into a recreational area for tourists and locals.
According to IRNA, the lake, which is the largest saltwater lake in Asia, is showing signs of life after recent precipitation, becoming a relaxation zone for visitors and local residents. Previously, it was reported that the basin had completely dried up.
Environmental advocates and Iranian opposition media describe the desiccation of Urmia as a disaster caused by the actions of the authorities of the Islamic Republic.
