Iran Announces Condition for Halting Nuclear Program: NYT
The Iranian side has informed Washington that it is willing to suspend its nuclear program for a period of five years. According to sources from The New York Times, the U.S. offered Iran a 20-year moratorium on uranium enrichment during a meeting held in Pakistan.
In response, Iran has again proposed to halt its nuclear activities for up to five years, the article states. It has been reported that a similar proposal was also made during negotiations in February, after which President Donald Trump decided to initiate military actions.
Previously, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance had stated that Washington demands Iran to ultimately hand over all enriched uranium stocks.
