Vatican Representative Responds to Donald Trump's Criticism
The Vatican's representative Antonio Spadaro has responded to U.S. President Donald Trump's critical remarks regarding Pope Leo XIV. In a statement published on social media, Spadaro emphasized that the targeting of a spiritual leader by a politician reflects an inability to utilize moral authority for personal ends.
According to the Vatican representative, Trump's stance is not about engaging in substantive discussion but is rather an attempt to question the legitimacy of the Pope's words. He noted that the messages from the Vatican's leader are not based on principles of power, security, or purely national interests. This very aspect, according to him, creates challenges for politicians who seek to control that agenda.
It is worth mentioning that U.S. President Donald Trump criticized the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Leo XIV, via a post on the Truth Social platform. The White House leader expressed dissatisfaction with the Pope’s approaches, labeling him as 'weak' in the fight against crime and finding his foreign policy stance unacceptable.
