Use of Personal Names in Alliance Titles Will Be Prohibited: Law Passed

The use of personal names in the titles of parties and alliances will be prohibited. The National Assembly approved the draft law on amendments to the constitutional "Electoral Code" in the second reading with 67 votes in favor, 6 against, and 0 abstentions during an extraordinary session.

It is worth noting that on April 7, during the extraordinary session, the National Assembly also adopted projects which were discussed on an urgent basis in a 24-hour mode. These four projects relate to improving the mechanism for prohibiting oversight over voting, changes to local taxes for permits related to greenhouses and swimming pools, addressing certain issues in the field of universal health insurance, and proposed changes to the law on audiovisual media.

The project on amendments to the "Electoral Code of the Republic of Armenia" stipulates that political forces, including parties and alliances formed during elections, cannot include personal names in their titles.

Additionally, the project on amendments and changes to the "Law on Local Taxes and Fees" proposes significantly reducing the fee required for obtaining a construction permit for greenhouse economies, thus encouraging increased investment in communities.

Furthermore, the package of proposed amendments to the "Law on Universal Health Insurance" suggests adding several groups to the list of general groups. For instance, it is proposed that transporters providing passenger transport services via electronic platforms be allowed to participate in this system starting from January 1 of the following year.

Finally, the proposal for amendments to the "Law on Audiovisual Media" indicates that broadcasters providing audiovisual media services must explicitly label or mark television content that has been generated by artificial intelligence or other digital technological solutions, ensuring that it is clearly visible that the content was generated by artificial intelligence tools.
