Reasons Behind David Minasian's Transfer to Another Prison Revealed
After the incident at St. Anna Church, 18-year-old David Minasian is being transferred from the "Armavir" prison to the "Abovyan" prison to ensure that his education continues without interruption. This information was shared with Sputnik Armenia by the spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Justice's Penitentiary Service, Nona Navikyana.
"The basis for the transfer is the best interests of the individual, taking into account the age of the person deprived of liberty and the importance of ensuring continuity in secondary education," Navikyana stated.
Earlier, his lawyer Lusine Martirosyan had pointed out that the transfer is being carried out from "Armavir" prison to "Abovyan" prison.
It is noteworthy that the "Abovyan" prison is designated for women and minors; however, the law permits individuals up to the age of 21 to remain there, provided they exhibit good behavior. Minors receive their education directly within the correctional facility.
