Lebanon Expels Iranian Ambassador
The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Reza Sheybani a persona non grata. This announcement was made in a statement released by the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on X.
"The state of Lebanon withdraws the approval of the candidacy of Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Reza Sheybani and declares him a persona non grata," the statement said.
The Iranian ambassador is required to leave Beirut no later than March 29. Lebanon has also recalled its ambassador in Iran for consultations, citing 'violations of diplomatic norms by Tehran.'
