Is It Still Within the Logic of Turning Istanbul into a Sea of Blood? Alen Simonyan on Robert Kocharyan
“When Robert Kocharyan says during his press conference that limiting ourselves to 29,743 square kilometers under today’s conditions is a utopia and talks about claims, and just the day before someone was declaring, ‘I want Nakhchivan, I want Cilicia, I want Artsakh,’ then that rhetoric is about war,” said the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during a press briefing today.
“Is it still within the logic of turning Istanbul into a sea of blood? We must do everything to ensure that the region is peaceful and that there is no war. The revisionist rhetoric of politicians like Robert Kocharyan aims for Armenia to be at least dependent on another state, to have Russian peacekeepers and to maintain a perpetual state of war under the presence of an external moderator,” Simonyan added, referring to one of Robert Kocharyan’s statements.
