Accumulation of Sewage, Toxic Substances: Public Catering Facility's Operation Suspended in Yerevan
During an inspection conducted by the inspectors of the Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia in a public catering facility owned by 'PROGRES8888' LLC (located at 6/4 Safaryan St., Yerevan), violations incompatible with food production sanitary-hygienic standards were recorded.
Specifically:
- The structure of the sewage collection and drainage system did not prevent the accumulation of dirt, contact with toxic substances, penetration of foreign particles into food, condensation of steam, or mold development.
- Some areas of the walls, the floor, and certain working surfaces were uneven, not maintained in a repaired condition, and difficult to clean.
- The public catering facility was not equipped with a changing room and restroom for the staff, and the sinks were not supplied with hot water.
By the decision of the head of the inspection body, the production activities of the public catering facility have been suspended, and the operator has been instructed to bring the facility into compliance with established standards. A deadline has been set for rectifying the identified violations.
