Russia's MFA to Take a Clear Stance on Iran
Russia, while speaking at the UN Security Council, will adhere to the principle that military operations must cease and that the situation surrounding Iran should be resolved politically, stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
“Russia will guide its position based on this principle at the UN Security Council,” the ministry's statement said, which was released after a phone conversation between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
The Russian diplomatic agency emphasized that Russia's stance is that military operations must be immediately halted and that a political resolution should take into account the legitimate interests of all parties, primarily those of Iran.
