Europeans Continue to Shoot Themselves in the Foot: Peskov
The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, announced that Europeans continue to “shoot themselves in the foot” by maintaining their policy of rejecting Russian energy resources, reports RIA Novosti.
“Europeans continue to shoot themselves in the foot, more specifically, their voters' feet,” Peskov told reporters while commenting on the statement made by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen regarding the purchases of Russian gas.
It is noteworthy that the European Commission President, in response to a question from reporters concerning the importation of liquefied natural gas from Russia in the context of the crisis in the Middle East, stated that the EU will continue its policy of abandoning fossil fuels in favor of transitioning to environmentally clean sources.
