Pezeshkian and Aliyev Discuss Incident of Air Bombardment in Nakhchivan
The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, has called the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. According to Azerbaijani media, the Iranian president expressed gratitude to Aliyev for visiting the Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan and for conveying his condolences regarding the deaths of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and numerous civilians, as well as for Iran's intention to provide humanitarian aid.
Pezeshkian stated that the air bombardment in Nakhchivan has no connection with Iran and emphasized that the incident will be investigated. Aliyev once again expressed condolences over the loss of many civilian lives due to recent events in Iran. He highlighted the importance of investigating the incident that occurred in Nakhchivan.
During the phone conversation, the presidents also exchanged thoughts on the prospects for developing joint economic projects.
