Tense Situation in the National Assembly: Simonian to Opposition MP, 'You Can’t Speak to Me Like That'
During a session of the National Assembly, the situation escalated when opposition MP Kristine Vardanyan took the floor. National Assembly President Alen Simonian reminded her that her speaking time had expired. Despite this, Vardanyan gestured towards the President and stated, 'I was interrupted, I will finish now.'
In response, Simonian asserted, 'I make the decisions here; you cannot speak to me like that. Turning around and gesturing at me to say you were interrupted is unacceptable. Your speech is over; please take your seat.'
