Opposition Field Does Everything to Push Armenia into War: Aleksanyan
The opposition in Armenia is advocating for war, presented in various forms, and is doing everything to cloud the nation with conflict. This was stated by Vahagn Aleksanyan, a member of the 'Civil Contract' faction, during a conversation with reporters.
“I assert that the opposition is doing everything to lead Armenia into war and consequently to lose the lives of its sons, forcing the country to give up its most precious possession: independence. We, being the Armenian government, have declared that we halt the Karabakh movement and will never revive it again,” he stated.
Commenting on Armenia's failure to express condolences to Iran, Aleksanyan noted that the government is occupied with its own affairs and is deeply concerned about regional developments, but urged reporters not to portray global events as dependent on the statements of the Armenian government.
“The Security Council of Armenia is discussing various scenarios for potential developments. In my personal opinion, the main risks may be economic. From a security perspective, as you can see, there is peace in Armenia, and I am confident that Armenian citizens appreciate that peace. This is an unprecedented situation: previously we were constantly faced with casualties and war while the rest of the world enjoyed peace; now for the first time, the opposite process is occurring,” the MP added.
