In Moscow, a Call Not to Pray for Salary or Career Advancement
Believers should not pray for salary increases, career advancement, or improvements in material well-being. This was stated by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' during a sermon in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior on the occasion of the Lord's Meeting feast. The video was published on the 'Soyuz' YouTube channel.
“You should not pray for things that are simply impossible to achieve, like raising your salary, helping you become a manager, or helping you buy a house, a car, or a vacation,” the Patriarch warned.
He explained that prayers with such requests will not be fulfilled. “Heaven does not respond to such requests,” said the clergy.
The Patriarch called for prayers related to faith and relationships with family and loved ones. In April 2025, during the Holy Easter celebration, Patriarch Kirill urged believers to pray and work towards maintaining just and lasting peace and spiritual unity in historical Russia.
