Heavy Snowfall Causes Road Closures
As of February 10 at 9:00 AM, all interstate and republican highways in Armenia are open. However, due to adverse weather conditions, heavy snowfall, and lack of visibility, roads are periodically closed for safety reasons.
The road section from the Jermuk intersection to the Sisian intersection, the Spitak bends, and the Meghri mountain pass are closed for vehicles with trailers. The Noravan-Ltsen-Tatev highway and the Vardenyats mountain pass are also closed for trailer vehicles, while other vehicles face difficult travel conditions.
Snowfall is reported in the regions of Ararat, Yeghgneadzor, Goris, Meghri, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Sevan, Jambarak, Martuni, Ani, Artik, Ashotq, Aparan, Aragats, and Spitak.
