Cities on the Moon to Be Built in Less Than 10 Years, Musk
SpaceX plans to create cities on the Moon and Mars within the coming decades. The company's founder, Elon Musk, announced this on the X social media platform.
Musk stated that SpaceX specialists are already actively working on a project to develop autonomous cities on the Moon and estimated that significant results could be expected in less than ten years.
He also mentioned that SpaceX intends to begin construction of a city on Mars, starting this phase in five to seven years. He emphasized that missions to Mars will only be possible during periods when the planets in the Solar System are closest to each other, which happens every 26 months. A flight to Mars will take six months.
In contrast, flights to the Moon are significantly simpler, as rocket launches can be scheduled every ten days, and the journey takes only two days. Musk explained that these characteristics make building a city on the Moon considerably faster than on Mars, where establishing a settlement will require more than 20 years.
Previously, American entrepreneur Elon Musk had stated that humans should colonize other planets, specifically highlighting Mars and the Moon as key targets.
