Ministry of Health Addresses Rumors on Abortion Ban
The news website Cgtnturk.com has published another article by Okay Deprim titled, "The Ban on Artificial Termination of Pregnancy is Now on Armenia's Agenda," which contains clearly false, unsubstantiated, and misleading claims. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.
The ministry officially states that there are no plans for changes or initiatives regarding the regulations on the artificial termination of pregnancy in the law on "Reproductive Health and Reproductive Rights of Individuals."
“Any legislative initiative is subject to public discussion, and any proposed changes to the law are preceded by information dissemination. It is also important to emphasize that Okay Deprim has previously published unsubstantiated and manipulative materials regarding state institutions of the Republic of Armenia, which have not been confirmed by official sources,” reads the clarification from the Ministry of Health.
“Such publications fall within the logic of information manipulation and hybrid influence tools. We urge the public, media platforms, and social media users not to succumb to unverified information and to rely solely on official statements,” the ministry added.
