Hundreds of Flights Canceled and Delayed in the U.S. Due to Approaching Snowstorm
More than 800 flights have been canceled or delayed in the southeastern United States due to an impending snowstorm, according to a report by the Associated Press, referencing data from FlightAware.
Schools have been closed in several cities on Friday. The National Weather Service previously issued a warning for extreme cold weather, which affects over 170 million people. The warning is in effect until Sunday.
Meteorologists caution that icing could lead to power outages. The storm is also expected to bring heavy snowfall, sleet, and very low temperatures.
